Today I did V/O work for two Palladium commercials – one for television and one for radio. The commercial is being produced by Garrett Bess of Two River Pictures.
I voiced the role of Emily for the “Walking Point” film teaser trailer. “Walking Point” is inspired by true events when, for the first time in American history, canines were trained and used in battle. The screenplay, written by RJ Nevens Jr., is currently being submitted to film festivals. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with talented actors Robert Pate and Drew Moore again, as well as the brilliant Stacy Smith, vocal producer. We recorded in style at Terminus Recording Studios in midtown, Manhattan.
I’ll be performing a staged reading of the new play “The Truth”, based on the popular book “The Truth (I’m A Girl, I’m Smart and I Know Everything)”, by Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein. (Those who know me may say I was type cast…) The reading, which will take place on June 2nd in Asbury Park, is produced by the ReVision Theater and is directed by Bob Angelini.
I spent a fantastic birthday weekend shooting “Meet Me There“, written and directed by the very talented Steve Morey. I love this story – it’s a thriller – and sort of a twisted love story. The fabulous Robert Pate starred as my husband and my son was played by the adorable Alex Kagan. We shot in a gorgeous old mansion in Brooklyn – a perfectly big, creaky house for a thriller! The footage I’ve seen so far looks fantastic – I can’t wait to see it – and for you all to see it too!
Today I shot a commercial for Prestige Motors Mercedes Benz! I played a very satisfied new Mercedes owner, and the mother of the lovely KylieRae Condon. The spot was directed by Michael Schmidt. Look for it to start airing on or about March 18th on CBS in New York, New Jersey and parts of Pennsylvania.
Filming wrapped last night for “Benny”, which was bittersweet, as shooting a film with my son was an experience I will always treasure and I didn’t want it to end, but after two 12-hour shoot days, he was exhausted and I couldn’t wait to put him to bed! But I am thankful for the chance to share what I love to do with my talented little man. And I would be remiss if I did not mention how it was also wonderful to share the screen with Ashley Licata, the actress playing Benny’s imaginary friend! We had a great crew and it was a pleasure to work on another Carey Hu film. Look for “Benny” to hit the festival circucit!
